Starvation, when have you ever been concerned about starvation?
Personally, I care QUITE A BIT!!!
But I also know that even the US isn't capable of feeding all the starving people in the world when it's plainly obvious that corrupt politicians and dictators have little incentive to permit us to do so..
Starving people are too busy trying to survive that they don't have the energy, let alone the motivation, to wage internal revolution against the depotic government trying to supress them..
What I found most amazing at the Anti-War rally were how many people were absolutely content to excuse the brutality of Saddam and Jong Il's regimes.. They somehow think the Bush administration is WORSE than either of those regimes.
I just stood there, incredulous... They are all against the war.. but no one gives a sh*t about the fact that if we don't do something now, we'll have a FAR LARGER WAR thrust upon us within 5-10 years as these young muslims reach adulthood and lack any kind of economic opportunity.
And one other thing that p*ssed me off (and has been discussed here quite a bit).. was the oil excuse.. "It's all about oil", they rail.. "blood is thicker than oil"...
But none of them had a nasty word for Lukoil, which signed a $1 Billion oil deal with Saddam's regime the other day, or any of the French companies which have a VESTED INTEREST in preserving his regime in power..
Nope.. just US oil companies.. They are the ones to blame..
Of course.. cynical me.. I went around telling these folks that I was happy that all of them wanted Saddam to stay in power. I told them I owned Lukoil stock and they were making out like bandits in Iraq... (I don't.. but they didn't need to know that.. :0)
But it made them think.. for about 10 seconds until they rationalized that Russian oil companies must be alright.. It's the US oil companies that are the root of all evil..
Just amazing the overwhelming lack of true analysis on the part of these peaceniks...
One more funny part was when one of early speakers mentioned that they want our government to pursue only peaceful course to resolve this conflict..
Well, I'm still waiting for the peaceniks to venture forth with some viable ideas of their own as how to resolve the problem and create economic opportunity for millions of young Arabs...
Yes Len.. I care.. I care quite a bit... Because without jobs, and corrupt governments unable to provide them, these young people are just going to blame the West (or the Jews) for their plight and become even more radicalized, seeking to take out their frustrations on the West....
We haven't seen anything yet Len... Demographics don't lie.. And the Islamo-Fascists know that demographics are on their side. All they have to do is bide their time and the manpower they seek will become available.
