We have had fantastic luck with the read naturally program. I got a 3x improvement out of my kids last summer using that program. And I've met a lot of the parents around town, and the improvement stuck! So I really recommend it. We had a dedicated read naturally volunteer in our class who would read with every child one on one, and then I also adapted the program for group work. We had read naturally races, where we would read as fast as we could. I had one little girl who could get up to 200 words a minute on her "hot" reads. We had a blast doing it, too. Your daughter may already know about the program, but is she doesn't, tell her it's on the web- readnaturally.com I don't use the tapes. I use one to one, and classroom choral and echo reading, and then some of the games that I made up, like reading races.
