res- Frankly, at the moment, I'm just a bit with Rice on this one. You need to use race in admissions processes; it's just not clear how much a proportion of the process it should be. Now that's an argument, as I said in my previous post, that one can have.

Why should the daughter of Bill Cosby receive preferential treatment from the daughter of joe mechanic?

Diversity means so much more than race. Socioeconomic background should be a consideration, with race a byproduct of that diversity model. Blindly assuming someone's race paints a clear black and white picture is PC foolishness. (no pun intended)
