I'm listening to the C-Span coverage of the DC march. Brian Becker of ANSWER made a speech against the sons of the poor fighting a war for Exxon, Texaco and Citicorp while the rich get richer (yup, he sure sounds like a socialist). The counter protest (this was near the Navy yards) asked him how much Saddam Hussein was paying him and why he supported Saddam and Kim Jong Il.

C-span interviewed a number of marchers. I heard things like "concern about Bush's policies" and "hope for a peaceful solution" more that outright opposition. The chants were mostly "Money for Jobs! Not for War!", that kind of thing. Those marching under ANSWER banners wore keffiyahs and carried Palestinian flags. The rest of the marchers just carried signs saying "War is Hell" and "No War in Iraq", some handmade and some professionally printed by ANSWER.
