Ted Re...What should one think when they see a pattern repeated throughout the country?
One should look at the pattern and see it it can be explained fully, or partially by other causes. IN the blacks case, certainly academic achievements and lack of family structure, are two causes. The black population will never achieve parity until the whole community recoginises the value of education, and the value of discipline, accepting responsibility, and honesty; Discipline in showing up every day, on time, no excuses, with a good work habits and attitudes. That is what employers are looking for, and willing to pay the big bucks for; and unless your race has them, will always be on average, the lower paid employee, not foremen, supervisor etc. The Asians have those traits, and have been able to overcome the white's big advantage of experience, ownership, and nepotism.
In this case, Asians have a higher median educational level and yet, make less than their white counterpart.
Do you think they ask for a lower salary in order to be polite?
No, but when you are looking at a class of people, many times other things are responsible. For instance, the Asians have been making great strides lately, and have pulled even, however, haven't totally overcome experience, property ownership; the natural inclination to hire ones children before others, etc. Your ability to only look at racism, as a cause, also makes you a racist. You are unfairly crying racism, when you haven't looked at all of the other options. |
