I read Tom Friedman (we had another esteemed Friedman oped this morning, much to my delight) as suffering from Rabin nostalgia. You can almost hear him say, Rabin could have straightened this mess out. He would have implemented the wise Left agenda with the warrior strength of the Right.

It was not analysis as much as lament.
