Hi Solon! My friend Fred Marks was in his early 80's at the time this happened and he died about 6 months later. He had been a devotee of Meher Baba for about 50 years. He did not describe his experience as a "vision" but as an experience in every way resembling ordinary waking awareness. Circumstances of this kind are not all that uncommon, particularly between Gurus and devotees. Almost any genuine Guru has the ability to exist in one primary place but APPEAR in other locations. The normal term used to describe this is "bilocation". Some Gurus have picturesque capabilities such as manifesting physical items remotely. The current Sai Baba manifests physical objects remotely all over the world. Other gurus who are critical of this say that there is no significance to such a capability because all it is is taking something FROM one place and moving it to another. However, the transport is relatively immediate and there are no Fedex charges! There are probably 500-1000 Sai Baba devotees who have first hand experience of this sort of thing. Adi Da does not move physical items from place to place, but he has, on many occasions appeared in various places other than where his physical body is domiciled at the time. He suggests that there is nothing particularly unusual about this. If you read Stan Grof's book REALMS OF THE HUMAN UNCONSCIOUS you will find cataloged many unusual capabilities that humans possess but which are not yet well documented or understood by conventional "authorities".
