Oh so you had a problem with the 'subject', not with the form and tone of her writing....meaning you didn't like *this* one poem of hers, but you may like some of her other ones...?

Thats all I wanted to know...

I'm a newbie in the world of literature.....seriously. Still exploring my preferences in poetry...

I like poetry that is stark and realistic and emotional. Thats why i like her. Issues of the Second amendment were just her own political views [and i don't have an opinion on the subject although i personally don't want to own firearms] - and has nothing to do with her writing style, or why i like her.

As for the politics, well....either extreme is toxic for the society IMVHO.

i wish to look for role models in writing, but I dissociate between their material and their style. I prefer free verse and forceful delivery, and that is what i liked about her. Does this make sense ?

BTW I discuss coz i want to explore and learn, not because i agree or I disagree.
