LOL!
Its all been said before...
First, IMO, a man can never, should never offer an opinion on what can never be experienced by him. Its like insisting on natural childbirth without epidural. Whether or not I chose epidural for the birth of my three kids, the point is, my husband never had the right to make that decision for me, unless asked to. Since he cannot possibly uderstand what it is to give birth, he has no right to interfere in the decision making process. Same goes for abortion issues. Its a woman's body, its a woman's right. And no two women are alike.
Just for the records....I'd never never never have an abortion, no matter what. But at the same time, I accept the fact that thats just my opinion, my belief, and i don't necessarily feel that women who make that as a first choice <and trust me, a lot of them do> are bad. In my opinion, its their life, and I cannot understand what it is to be them, and to have made that choice...I'm not God, I'm not the only one who knows how to live life, I'm not qualified to pass a judgement on others. Societal laws are HUMAN laws, created by HUMAN beings, for HUMAN beings. They were created to give a semblem of decency and order to society. Carry them too far, be too rigid with them and you create almost like a religious fanaticism and intolerance of individuals. They are the means to an end, not the end themselves. The end is to live in a harmonious society. We seem to have lost sight of that basic principle.
If nature, or any divine force wanted to saddle us with their laws on abortion, trust me, we'd know abortions are evil. There would be repercussions, it would have screwed up womens bodies. Didn't happen that way - did it ?
Every action has a reaction. Women who choose abortions do not go 'scot-free' as is believed. The result of their choice manifests itself in some form or other in their life. If they choose to live with the consequences of their choice, well, good for them, its their choice. I don't think anyone has to right to take that choice away.
I suppose I believe in live and let live. If we all respected other peoples right to their choices, the world would be a far better place.
