It's a very debatable claim. Liberals (Kennedy and Johnson) got us into war in Indochina in the first place for example. Then the next generation of liberal politicians ended the war in Indochina by turning over people who had allied themselves to us to ruthless Communists like the North Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge. They even voted to cut off shipments of oil to South Vietnam to ensure it fell to the North. I certainly don't think liberals covered themselves in glory during any part of this struggle.

Liberals tend to be critical of human rights violations by our allies but seem to turn a blind eye when the same or worse is done by countries hostile to us.
