We don't know whether the improving fundamentals are the beginning of sustained uptrend or just a blip. We saw these
improving fundamentals in Jan 2002 as a result of post 9-11
stimulus only to drop off again. Maybe the market selloff in front of "improving fundamentals" is telegraphing something. I think the bear market bottom is a few years away and will be accompanied by double digit unemployment rates, real estate bust, a couple of big name banks going under and absolute total disinterest in the stock market.
I woudn't be surprise if GE pulls the plug on CNBC by then.
The OCtober rally might run up to S&P 1000 , NDX 1200 but
this rally should be used to exit longs and get short.
