I think they could have left out the "membership in an underrepresented minority group" and the other items in the criteria for the 20 points would have sufficed. By their own statistics the black population of the univ varies from 12 to 20%.

I am somewhat in agreement with Powell when he states that cynicism in the black community may exist when they see government in general focusing on this and then passing endless legislation that favors one economic entity or another with near impunity. It's a little schizophrenic.
