All of the categories mentioned in the CNN article were limited to 40 points. What happened to the other 110 points?

The article fully explained the calculation, and it was based on 150 points.

How about answering the question? The candidates get 12 points for a perfect SAT score, and 20 points for being black. Does it make sense to provide double the points for the color of the skin as compared with the SAT score?

Forget the calculation; it doesn't matter. What matters is that black students receive a free bonus amounting to double what the typical SAT score provides. IS THAT FAIR?
