I grew up 40 miles from the John Birch headquarters in NW Illinois, so I was quite familiar with their agitated claptrap as a kid. I kinda laughed them off. Their paranoia was clearly risible and their belief system bizarre. So, no, I haven't come over from that dark side. The difference between the omni-directional hysteria of the Birchers and my own sense of alarm is that I know how to focus on the locus of evil. And that axis incorporates the Thief-In-Chief, Oil Slick Dick, Rummy the Rapacious, Trashcroft the Terrible and their merry band of henchmen. -R.
