On the contrary, they are allied forces and not under our command. I know the Northern Alliance was eager for American intervention. Indeed,it rescued them from likely defeat. But they have taken no oath of allegiance to the US and are not under our command.

In northern Afghanistan, I believe the American military presence is limited to a relatively small number of special forces troops.
