B: TVI Receives Contract from Maryland for State's Decontamination Shelters

GLENN DALE, Md., Jan 21, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- TVI Corporation (OTCBB:TVIN)
is pleased to announce that Maryland's Department of General Services has issued
TVI an annual contract for the purchase of all the states decontamination
shelters.

The award allows local agencies to purchase TVI's three-line decontamination
shelter.

The decision by the Department of General Services to standardize on the TVI
shelters comes after an exhaustive 5-month review and evaluation of all
decontamination shelters available on the market today and enables each local
and county emergency management office to acquire the equipment needed to
protect the citizens in the event of a terrorist attack or a natural disaster.

TVI's 3 three line shelter is the result of 5 years of research and
field-testing of mass casualty decontamination systems. It includes three
decontamination lines; one for male, one for female and one for non-ambulatory
personnel.

Incorporated in the shelter are integral shower booms with 12 body sprays per
boom. This high density of water helps to insure efficient and complete
decontamination of the individuals.

This statewide commitment to TVI continues to validate their lead position in
the industry and complements the commitments from Massachusetts, Delaware,
Maine, Hampton Roads, Virginia, South Carolina, Rhode Island and numerous other
counties, agencies and institutions.

TVI CEO Richard Priddy stated " We are please that our home state continues to
validate the effectiveness of our equipment and our systems, and I am personally
pleased and comforted knowing that should the unimaginable happen, we will have
access to some of the best equipment available on the market today."

TVI utilizes material containing DuPont (DD) products in its shelters.
