i know that. but, i don't do it. i can make a stock trade for $9 - no matter how many shares i buy. but, i have to pay for each bond. when the bonds are trading for very little, it is expensive. besides, there is a huge bid-ask spread. so, i end up not buying the bonds. i buy the stock and get creamed.
