Are you really this obtuse? Of course the numbers were made up, they were off the top of my head and chosen as much for ease of calculation as accuracy. It was a "thought experiment" proving that even a high rate of deterrence will have a very small effect on the rate of all homicides. Plug in the actual numbers if you want to dig them up. The actual rate of deterrence of course will be mere speculation on your part as the 10% was on mine. 0% is not acceptable as it ignores common sense and human nature. I expect an honest appraisal will show that way less than a third (my invented number) of all homicides are of the type that would be deterred by the DP. The fact remains that any deterrence effect will be swamped by the aggregate data and not show up in the data you claim proves there is no deterrence. I repeat, common sense tells us that the deterrence effect of the DP is greater than zero, to claim otherwise is to ignore human nature and history.

ROFL You'll excuse me if I just laugh at the absurdity of this charge coming after the inane, clueless rant that is that post. Twisting and spinning seems to be your definition of thought. The only way to avoid the obvious conclusion of my experiment is to believe there is not a scintilla of deterrence from the DP, a logical absurdity, but you waste your time attacking numbers that were obviously not the actual numbers but just as obviously were close enough to the actual numbers to make the point i.e. that even a deterrence rate of 10% would vanish in the noise of the aggregate data. I repeat, are you really that obtuse? It is obvious to any honest observer that the two pieces of data you offered do not prove there is no deterrence and are basically worthless when looking for a deterrence effect.

You are free to continue to spew bile and spin other's statements all you want, fortunately I don't have to read it. I am sure you will assume, incorrectly, that you have routed me when I fail to respond to posts I will not be reading. The fact is I have better things to do than joust with the likes of you. So you can claim victory now cuz I am through pissing into the wind.
