Bill, re >The NYC murder rate drop mirrors that of the entire state.< Given that NYC holds almost half of the state's population that is no surprise. It would still be interesting to compare the rate of the rest of the state (i.e. the rate among the ~10 million who don't live in NY City) with the rate of the ~8 million who live in the city because than we might be able to discern the impact of the DP without the effect of Guiliani's policy. Don't have the time or inclination to go looking for it right now. Maybe after I get my taxes done. ggg
