I suppose a few might do that. Is that a good reason for making it illegal?

Not just the lawsuits but also all the people that are not prevented from killing themselves that would later have
been happy to have been prevented.

You could require some sort evaluation before you allow the assisted suicide or maybe even any suicide.
However that doesn't sound like a good solution either. It isn't a really libertarian solution because it puts
government created hoops in your way if you want to commit suicide, also the people who think of suicide as
immoral would see it as a formal acceptance that it is ok to commit suicide. You could argue if the government
just doesn't get in the way it is not endorsing it but if it sets up procedures it could be reasonable seen to have
endorsed suicide. Also there is the simple question "do you trust the evaluators". Those for legalized suicide
would worry that they would restrict it to much or just think we are giving them too much power, those against
legalized suicide would worry that it is being allowed to easily perhaps even encouraged.
