German Xmas season record for eBay
For the first time ever in Germany more than 1 billion US dollar of goods were sold via InterNet auction house eBay during the Xmas season. For Q4 2002 this means a 177% y-2-y increase, told eBay Germany CEO, Philipp Justus, the Financial Times Germany.

According to the newspaper the California enterprise grows thereby three times as fast as the German on-line retail trade. The federation of the German retail trade has quoted a growth rate of 60 per cent for the on-line Christmas business in December 2002. The value of the goods auctioned off altogether on eBay rose, according to earlier data, in the fourth quarter by 68 per cent to 4.6 billion US dollar. eBay had 195 million products on his auction platform and 61.7 million users registered
