German Xmas season record for eBay For the first time ever in Germany more than 1 billion US dollar of goods were sold via InterNet auction house eBay during the Xmas season. For Q4 2002 this means a 177% y-2-y increase, told eBay Germany CEO, Philipp Justus, the Financial Times Germany. According to the newspaper the California enterprise grows thereby three times as fast as the German on-line retail trade. The federation of the German retail trade has quoted a growth rate of 60 per cent for the on-line Christmas business in December 2002.
