I had met the good folks that run these ventures in 1999, and was not particularly impressed then, though was puzzled by why the market valued their ventures. Yes, I remember sinned, for being envious.
Much has happened since that age of intoxicating oxygen, where one could make money by simply deciding to make money.
I believe much of the portals' recent rise in price has more to do with the fact that they are Chinese, as opposed to they are portals, and if so, I advise staying away from them unless one is simply making a quick wager, to abscond at first sign of gain.
