AMD and IBM are now jointly developing the next generation process for AMD's and IBM's chips, and IBM may be start acting as a foundry or second source for AMD's hammer. A number of AMD process engineers have already moved to IBM's Semiconductor Research and Development Center in East Fishkill, New York. If IBM buys AMD, Intel's FTC worries would be over.
