Hello Lee and others

Just got my copy of Metastock 8.0 - a couple of questions if I may

First, my machine is an AMD Athlon (Firebird? ThunderBird?) 1.1G, 128M RAM, 40G HD. When I installed MS 8.0, it prompted me to upgrade to IE 6.0 Now my computer has really slowed down a LOT - when I ask IE to open when MS is already open, it literally takes a minute. Even when MS isn't running, it's acting weird. (a technical term). Not used to this!! :)

Is MS a bad resources hog and if so, must I upgrade RAM, or the processor? Also, I can no longer click on html text that appears in emails - when I do, an Explorer window tries to open, but just sits there, sort of see-through (I can see my in-box but the borders of the IE window appear). Forgive me, not a computer expert.

Second, re: building my database, I want my data to reside on my machine, would rather not use Data on Demand. I looked at the overwhelming list of indices available, and started scrolling through them, highlighting the ones I thought I wanted, but I quit at the letter B - I play guitar for a living and my hand and forearm was starting to hurt from holding the mouse for that long. At 38, I thank God for no tendonitis but I try to be careful :) Is there any way that I can get a 'canned' set of indices, (i.e. the major US and international stock markets and the i.e. top 25 most watched industry groups) into a new folder quick and easy? Or must I first figure out the symbols for the indicies I want then go through and manually add them to my new 'indices' folder?

Hope this last question is clear. Thanks a lot to anyone who can help with these issues. Nikku
