Hi Nikku,

It's not your processor speed.

Upgrade to 256 MB of ram and if you open a lot of windows or run many programs at the same time take it to 512 MB. You will notice a big improvement in performance and the cost is still quite low for ram now. When you don't have enough memory, the operating system swaps out parts of the operating system and programs to disk, which greatly slows you down. You can see this happen as your disk activity led is on a lot. After you upgrade the ram, it will hardly ever be on.

I have never had an AMD, but I understand there are drivers for the processor. If so, check their internet site and make sure you have the latest. Ditto for your video cards drivers.

In Outlook Express, go TOOLS and OPTIONS then SECURITY and tick off 'restricted sites zone' for security reasons. I would also suggest turning off the preview pane. That is safer as you can delete most of the spam without it opening.

John

PS - I am running on a P3-800 with 512 MB ram and XP operating system and have no problems with speed.
