L. Brew,
First, MUEI deosn't make memory the parent company MU does. Second, INTC almost went out of business when they were part of the DRAM industry. Third, if Intel ever gets desperate enough to have to sell PC's I will liquidate my entire core position immediately. Fortunately, the powers at Intel have repeatedly stated that they have no desire to enter this low margin business and piss off their loyal, hardworking, extremely effective distribution channel. Andy and Craig are much too smart to risk pushing all the other OEM's towards AMD and Cyrix just to gain a few dollars from a low margin commodity business. Dell, Gateway, Micron, HP, IBM, CPQ, etc., etc. are selling as many Intel CPU's as they can make. So why do you think it would be a good strategy??
P.S. glad you have nothing to do with Intel's strategic direction.
