Unclewest, Honourable was a good word to add. The effusive adulation of all and sundry gets a bit much. Many's the scoundrel who wraps themselves in a flag, religion or other disguise. My examples weren't pathetic at all. They showed the absurdity of undiscriminating admiration of a group. Good is found in individuals, not groups. < What are you doing to contribute to your country's defense and well-being? > Well, quite a bit actually. Also, quite a bit towards the defence and well-being of the USA. Also, for China and many countries and indeed everyone who wishes to live by voluntary exchange of value. So much so that I hereby award myself The Great and Noble Award for Universal Gallantry. Mqurice PS: Sorry, I wasn't meaning to put words in your mouth. I was just commenting in general on the meaningless superlative hyperbole which seems to surround us these days, though I guess that's nothing new, judging from comments in my father's WWII diary where he was nauseated by unctuous comments from some of the muckity mucks.
