NL< Like a pendelum--terror yields some loss of rights temporarily. In the US i have every confidence that anything important that is lost will be retrieved. My view is that for the US/Europe, national suicide is not an option. But dont get me wrong, i expect and welcome the ACLU folks to make their criticisms heard and heard loudly. In order to reverse the pendelum, you need to slow it down first. Of course winning the war on terror sooner rather than later would help too. mike
