1) Recognize that this is badly messed up. 2) Work within the UN and accept the fact that there can be no UN sanctioned military action at this time. 3) Throttle back the mobilization. We will look like idiots for doing all of this, but it is far better than the alternative which is to escalate commitment to a bad policy -- regime change.
