OT It is a reaction to an excessive rate of "modernization" that has not been accompanied by greater social justice or decreased relative poverty. What a ludicrous statement. If this was indeed the case, fundamentalists would be arising from the poorest of nations, such as India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Eritrea etc. Islamic fundamentalists are not out to create any sort of "greater social justice" as you imply; they are simply out to wreak havoc. The people who piloted the jets into the WTC had spent about $500,000 preparing for their nefarious acts. If they truly were out for social justice, they would have spent this money helping those in dire need in many middle eastern countries.
