methinks US military action in MidEast will be a huge catalyst
but negatively
it will not be successful
oil prices will simply remain high enough to hurt economies
then a few things will just go wrong
and oil prices will take off, not to settle down

even (as I expect) no military action is taken, the same results occur
with oil prices remaining under pressure, from threats

then world economy will slide inexorably into recession
and the deflationary patterns will take a deathly grip

the Arabs and Islamics generally will push this along
their avoidance of US financial markets will turn ugly
and become an outright boycott
with dire USdollar consequences, and huge gold upside effect
