<< A drug. But legal. Licensed, inspected, and taxed. >>

IMO, one of the real bad addictions, or drugs of sort, is caused by organized religion. I call it "selling air".

Billions are addicted to the promises all of the various forms of organized religion. But, if one looks at how many times organized religions is on the "wrong side", one then understands why "illegal drugs" and "selling air" are both bad.

Let's take a look:

Womens reproductive privacy and self determination? Organized religion is against it, some more than others.

Right to die with dignity? Organized religions is against it.

Quality sexual education for children: --- O. R. is against.

Living with mate until you find out if you are compatible: O. R. is against.

Holding religious "leaders" responsible for molesting children: O.R. is against.

Legalizing drugs so that the evil drug barons don't get rich: O.R. is against.

The execution of the mentally ill? Organized religion is against it. Think about it. First of all, establishing the mental illness of someone, in most cases, is extremely hard to do. And.... how can we consider anyone who murders someone else, truly sane? It is an inhuman, insane act.

I am sure that there are a lot more "stands against people" by organized religion, but that is enough for now.

Shows the importance of separation of church and state. But, unfortunately, organized religion still has too much power over our lives.
