One of the few possible face-saving solutions for Bush & Co. :

story.news.yahoo.com

Given the CIA/intel budgets alone are greater than the entire GDP of Iraq, Bush Senior and crew has no doubt had Saddham under their thumb since '79, & will have to decide whether to let him get "disappeared", or if they get to have another Bush I prime-time made-for-tv battle.

It'll depend on the polls and reaction to the State of the Kleptocracy speech on Friday.

My guess -- hearing the war reporters starting to complain in advance of lack of access, and possibility of mass casualties buried under the sand being exposed this time, unlike Gulf I, it'll be Saddham either is "deposed", or turns up later in Switzerland or Saudi.

If they were smart they'd put him up for war crimes, and try to rehabilitate some kind of "rule of law" reputation. But they're not that smart -- it's still obsolete Cold Warrior strategies in the 21st Century.
