That is the way composers, songwriters, producers and the like within the music industry feel. Piracy cuts into their bottom line, making things so bad for some that it is no longer a means to making a living.

I've been searching, but I can't find the link. A popular songwriter wrote an editorial saying she and others were all in favor of people downloading their music, because it opened up a whole new market of people who may not have heard them otherwise. She said she was also selling more merchandise off her website and attendance at concerts was up.

The singers and songwriters only get pennies off each CD sold anyway.

I'm still looking for the article.
