LONDON, Jan 22, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (Nasdaq: SNSA; Oslo Stock Exchange: SNI) announces that during its meeting earlier this month, Jacob Stolt-Nielsen informed the Board of Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (SNSA) that as part of the handover of his responsibilities he wishes to resign as Chairman of the Stolt Sea Farm Holdings plc (SSF), SNSA's wholly owned seafood business subsidiary.
Jacob Stolt-Nielsen is the founder of SSF and has been a pioneer in the aquaculture industry in Norway in the early 1970's. He remains Chairman of SNSA and Stolt Offshore S.A.
The Board of SNSA has decided to appoint Niels Gregers Stolt-Nielsen as the new Chairman of SSF. He will take on this responsibility with immediate effect. Niels Gregers Stolt-Nielsen is also a Board member and CEO of SNSA. From 1996 to 2001, he was CEO of SSF.
Stolt-Nielsen S.A. is one of the world's leading providers of transportation services for bulk liquid chemicals, edible oils, acids, and other specialty liquids.
