Actually, it is not important, to me, anymore, whether we consider a fetus, or embryo, a person or not.
As you say, we are currently discussing a legal issue and not a moral one.
I think the important issue, is whether we can force a woman to be a host for an embryo or fetus. If so, can we also force a woman to be host for other things. For instance, if we find out, that, through genetic engineering, that we can grow body parts, but, we can only do so in the body of women, should the government be also able to force women to carry and host body parts, besides be hosts for unwanted embryos and fetuses? |
