>>it's actually me saving the world<<

Hi Mq! I have a tendency to let you rant on, without much input, but after spending a few days wandering the Internet, looking at US troop deployment, I'd like to point out to you that the US is sending real human beings away from their real human families, which is far, far different than you sending your money.

It's very hard for families when the father is called up for battle, but even harder when it's the mother. And harder still when there is only one parent, so the children are being kissed goodbye while in the arms of a grandparent or even just a family friend.

Businesses are saying goodbye to employees, and by law are holding those jobs, but hardest of all it is for those who are self employed.

What's in it for them? Well, working for Uncle Sugar does have its advantages.

Among them, if death should come while in service, a nice funeral in Arlington Cemetery.

Translation: your father may have served in WWII, but our people give disproportionately in the cause of freedom today, so don't fuck with us. If you want to challenge us, give as we give, or have the decency to be silent.

Your call. And, honestly, we'd be more than glad if your people were willing to give as we give.

I'd like to think that your father wouldn't have argued that his service exempted you and yours forever. Mine didn't.
