It's funny how arguments can spin around and hit you from the other side. Someone pointed out yesterday how inconsistent it is to say that we shouldn't attack Iraq because they'd retaliate with WMD.

In that same vein, I think it's inconsistent to accuse the US of providing Saddam with WMD and then argue that he doesn't have them. Yesterday I was arguing with Zonder on another thread about whether the US provided Iraq with WMD, when she produced a very long list of nasty technology that the US is supposed to have provided to the Iraqis.

Seems to me that it's very inconsistent to wave around a list of WMD we are supposed to have provided to Iraq, and then argue that they don't have any WMD.

It would be really ironic if the reason we aren't telling how we know what they have is because they got it from us.

Or maybe, we know who they got it from, and it's Germany, France, Russia, Pakistan, China, and other countries that would really rather not be embarrassed in public.

Maybe all of the above.
