from cnn Rumsfeld dismisses French, German opposition to war U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld dismissed French and German opposition to war with Iraq, saying that the two countries represent "old Europe" and that NATO's expansion means "the center of gravity is shifting to the east." Paul, I guess i wasnt the only one upset with West Germany and Vichy yesterday as i referred to them. "Old Europe" has a ring to it though. My gut reaction yesterday was that this was a stab in the back. But yesterday i was overreacting a bit to things and joking alot. How do you think the France/Germany opposition will play out? Who will lead Europe in the future? Where do you think Putin ends up in all of this--pro US or Pro GF? Mike
