Tomato, I am impressed, truly impressed. Your memory for minutia never ceases to amaze me. Can you close your eyes and still see the ads of the huge grapefruits and the beaming Midwest mom receiving her Mission Pack from relatives in California? I can, too.

Grandmother D. relates that as a graduation gift, one of the seniors in her graduating class received a brand spankin new 1964 1/2 Mustang. It was a red and white convertible and was discovered by said graduate, parked in the drieway of her home, wrapped in the biggest red and white ribbons anyone has seen before or since. In retrospect, Grandmother D. believes the ribbons were probably very heavily starched and shine-treated yardgoods. But still, such a sight!!

Grandmother D. further relates that the 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang won the Tiffany Design Award, a first for an automobile, she believes. But the 1967-68 Cougar is featured in "The Catalogue of Cool!"

A very good coffee-table book covering Boomer nostalgia is, "Populux." You might want to check to see if amazon.com has it. "Shock of the New," is another good one.

I heard the word "chicks" several times when I was at that dairy we discussed on the "Pun" thread. Also, around Eastertime one hears "chicks" said quite frequently. I believe it means just-hatched or baby chickens. <vbg>
