OT and FWIW.. Middle class in most of these countries in general have no problem with things that are american, ie goods, food, movies, music what have you.. In fact all of this is generally available locally and so are american TV programs in either regular programming or through satellite.. They see higher education in US as something to strive for their kids, if they can afford it.. So it is not as if all things american are hated.. IMHO, what gets every one going is American policies when it comes to Israel and Palestine.. Even here I think with previous administrations, emotions were a bit mixed.. Although US was seen more even handed in trying to restrict Israel from getting out of hand.. But with the current administration's unconditional support of Sharon is rubbing every one the wrong way.. This link kind of points to that. cafearabica.com
