The word "nigger" is a word abstracted from the word "negro" and was used expressly to denigrate black fokes. That is why we recoil from it. it has a long history of oppression attached to it.

That is just not true of the word "queer," which for centuries now has been used to describe strange behavior, ANY strange behavior or entity, amongst which is homosexuality. The word is valid and the way in which JLA used it does not necessarily reflect an attack on homosexuals.
