However, the two good boys, Dell and Gateway 2000, have not being able to get the sweet deals from Intel since they are not interested to buy from Intel's competitors. As the result, Dell and Gateway 2000 are having higher costs on the most expensive components: CPU & motherboards from Intel.

Come on, Please,
Do you think that AMD and CYRX are not working very hard to sway DELL and GTW to use their chips? The reason that DELL and GTW do not use those chips is INTC gave better deal than those two other chip makers can give DELL and GTW.

DELL and GTW are INTC best customers. If you are in the business world you know that you will save the best deal for your loyal, and most valuable customers. CPQ, HWP, DEC have not been nice to INTC lately. INTC might have just beat AMD and CYRX price for them and that's it. But the best deal will go to DELL, and GTW. INTC, DELL, and GTW do not have to announce the deal that they have to the world.
I believe DELL and GTW will get special treatment in term of price and other related items from INTC, such as INTC built a special warehouse next to DELL factory, so DELL can cut cost and delivery time. They just do not announce it to the world. Does INTC do that for CPQ, HWP, and DEC?

I respect your opinion, however I still believe that the best is yet to come for DELL.

Bye.
