The function of most genes in humans is yet unknown... or only incompletely known.

Furthermore, how genes express themselves, and how that expression can be mediated by environmental (nutritional, etc.) influences is nearly wholely unknown so far... but is a great and promising field of inquiry.

Where is the 'gene' for a sunny disposition?

Where is the gene (or functional group of same) for intelligence?

For musical ability?

For authoritarian impulses?

For short temper?

For far-sightedness?

For a fast digestion?

For athletic ability?

I think you must get the point by now, much (most) is yet unknown... and complex psychological or behavioral make-ups may be statistically inferred to be genetic in origin... but that does not mean that all the biology is understood.
