I'm not worried about a software solution on Pentiums being serious competition for CUBE. The current chips just don't have the architecture or processing speed to do effective MPEG2 video/audio decoding and Dolby AC3. It's not a matter of writing better software.

I see the competition as a hardware decoder or a hybrid hardware/software solution.
