hope Bush and his cronies are not into for the oil. I know oil plays some role in this mess but I don't believe Bush is lining his pockets.

Out of curiosity, what form of payoff do you think is even possible for "Bush and his Cronies"? Would you envision the US Military just seizing the oilfields and holding them for Exxon's troops to come and occupy, or what? Might Haliburton's military come in and mine the Iraqi oilfields?

Just trying to figure out how "Bush & Cronies" might take home some pay out of this deal...


As I understand it, Iraq is sitting on the second largest oil reserves in the world [after Saudi Arabia]. Due to the ten year embargo, Iraq's oil equipment on the fields is old and inefficient. New wells are not being drilled.

Now, you don't think Halliburtion, Cheney's former employee, or Chevron, Rice's former employer, or any of the other oil drillers or integrated oil service companies who are friends with the Bushes want to get their mitts on that oil? Let's not be naive here.

Now, its a very cynical view that I don't want to believe is true.
