Eric, My thoughts have rambled in the opposite direction...why not cede certain areas to Canada....Washington state and Minnesota come to mind...and who would argue that Michigan would not be better off with Detroit in Canadian hands?....It would become a bit more tricky letting them have non bordering areas like Chicago but one can still dream in this country....
