>> If you are saying its a religious thing I guess you are saying the Old Testament doesnt have the personal protections the new Testament does. <<

i believe emile was the one who brought the religious aspect into it. he is far more knowledgeable about judaism than i. i do think this however. i believe that the few jews who are pro-life are almost exclusively orthodox or observant jews. so it would appear that the more secularized people become (both jew and gentile) the more apt they are to accept abortion.

>> however, I do feel it IS a personal decision and the government OUGHT to stay out of the decision...Some things are better left to Man and God alone, thats one of them. <<

do you feel that prostitution is a personal decision that should be kept between two consenting adults? do you believe that taking drugs is a personal decision regarding what you choose to put into your body? do you believe that it is a personal decision for madeline toogood regarding how she disciplined her child in the parking lot? or should the government intervene?

essentially what i am asking is, on what basis do you draw the line for whether or not the government should be involved in personal decisions? if you believe that the govt has no right to tell women what to do with their body with regards to abortion, then you must be for legalization of all drugs. after all, it is a personal decision regarding what you choose to ingest in your own body is it not?
