Odyssey Intersects Gold In Turkey 300 deet of gold 1/24/03 TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jan 24, 2003 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX) -- Paul Matysek, President of Odyssey Resources Limited, (ODX:TSX Venture) is pleased to report results from the first drill hole completed during the Phase 1 diamond drill program on the Altintepe Gold Project located on the Black Sea coast of Turkey.
Odyssey is earning a 100% interest in the Altintepe Gold Project from Teck Cominco Limited.
Phase 1 drilling is initially focused on the 2G zone where Teck Cominco previously drilled a number of holes including KD-34 which assayed 3.4 g/t gold (0.11 oz/t) over 76 metres. (249 feet). Odyssey's current program on the 2G, open pit gold target was designed to test the grade extent and depth of oxidized gold mineralization encountered in previous drilling. Odyssey's ATD-1 is a vertical hole located approximately 70 metres (230 feet) west of KD-34 and was completed to a depth of 137 metres (449 feet). ATD-1 intersected oxidized, intensely silicified andesite porphyry and volcanic breccia from surface grading 2.77 g/t gold (0.09 oz/t) over 93 metres (305 feet). Complete drill log including assay results will be posted on the Company's web-site.
ADT-2 located 65 metres (213 feet) to the southwest of ADT-1 was designed to test the southern limit of the 2G zone and intersected 11 metres (36 feet) of oxidized andesite porphyry. Assays are pending for this hole. Current drilling is now focussed on the northeastern extension of this mineralized zone along a strike length of 700 metres (2296 feet). Further assay results will be reported upon completion of the program.
Odyssey invites interested parties to visit the Company's Hospitality Suite #928 at the Cordilleran Roundup at the Bayshore Hotel, Vancouver, B.C., Canada on Jan 27 -30th, 2003.
