Jeff B has certainly run circles around his detractors... Don't count your chickens before they hatch, Olu. I always claimed that Amazon would be a low margin retailer with a multiple comparable to LL Bean and Land's End (that is P/S below 1). Only when Amazon posts, if ever, GAAP earnings substantially above LL Bean, would then have Bezos finally silenced his critics. Until then all he has shown is that he can keep spinning the dream and wooly eyed followers keep buying into it. Just a few weeks back Lizzie was harping here about how incredibly good the margins were going to be with the new portal business... It didn't happen. And by the way, the option expense was minimal, as most of the options are underwater.
